Compress PDF without uploading your document

A PDF can become large because of high-resolution scans, photos, screenshots, embedded graphics, or export settings that preserve more data than the receiving portal needs. Ninjitzu compresses the document in your browser and creates a new, smaller PDF while leaving the original untouched.

When this tool helps

Choose Balanced for most forms and applications, Strong when a portal has a strict upload cap, or Gentle when visual clarity matters more than maximum reduction. Because the rebuilt file is created locally, your document is not sent to Ninjitzu for processing.

Private by design

Ninjitzu's file tools are designed around local processing. The document is handled in the browser, the original file stays untouched, and the result is created as a separate download on your device.

Compress PDF FAQ

Short answers for the questions people usually have before uploading again.

Will my PDF be uploaded?

No. The document is read and rebuilt in your browser. Ninjitzu does not need a server copy of the PDF to run this tool.

Does compression change my original PDF?

No. The tool creates a new downloadable file. Your original stays on your device.

Why can a compressed PDF look different?

This browser-based compressor rebuilds pages as optimized images. That can reduce size significantly, but selectable text and some interactive PDF features may not be preserved.

Which preset should I use?

Balanced is the best starting point. Use Strong when the upload limit is tight and Gentle when you want to preserve more visual detail.
