Why a portal says “unsupported file type”
The receiving system has a list of accepted formats. If the detected file falls outside that list, the upload is rejected before content may even be inspected.
Some sites still accept JPG and PNG but reject HEIC.
A renamed file can carry an extension that does not match its actual data.
The site may simply support a very small set of formats.
